Extremely clean Westfalia Eurovan Camper. Obviously babied for over 30 years, "Pele" comes from the mainland almost rust-free and her upholstery is in mint condition. Air conditioning, Cell Phone signal booster and three fresh deep cycle batteries, 100-watt solar power rent our Camper vans you must at least 25 years. Our typical guest is looking for a clean and well maintained Eurovan. None of our vans had more than 6 months service as rental Vans and "knock on wood", no dirty or careless renters. We have had no pets in any of our vans and because we are so new in the business, "I guess, we clean each one like we would be sleeping in them.
Kauai has an amazing amount of locations to immerse yourself in while
living style and "Pele" will make your time comfortable and special. There are a number of public and private campgrounds around the island which you will need permits for. To obtain: Go in person to the Campground Permit Office in Lihue. No online system there yet.
There Is no smoking allowed. The van's interior and exterior need to be returned clean and full of Premium gas.
Take "Pele" as your Host, Lodge, and refuge in one of the most gorgeous places on Earth.Coordinate pickup and drop off with DukeCovid Update;
We recommend reserving Kumu Campground prior to your arrival. Open, beachfront, bathrooms, hot shower, kitchen area with BBQ and only $15 per person per night.

RecommendationsYou should have your 1st-night location nailed down before you arrive. Some of our favorite campsites start with Lydgate Park. There is a lot of wave action here but that adds to the energy.` You can walk 3 miles in one direction on pristine sand and barley see a sole. Located on the North shore, is Anini Beach Park. A very far out reef makes the water calm and waveless almost all the time. Good shell collecting, snorkeling, and kiteboarding. There are three state campgrounds that are open.  One is Kokie which is up in the cold Waimea canyon area you can get your permit online. Another is a hike in only wilderness Park in Haena and the third is Polihale State Park. We don't allow the vans to Polihale as the roads are too treacherous. There are two private campgrounds, one called Kumu which is on the east side of the island on the beach it can be reserved online then there's the YMCA campground on the North shore that has to be reserved in person. The county campgrounds are seven of which three are closed. Permits are sold at the county building and in small towns around the island. Personally I would go for Kumu, the privately-owned campground in Anahola. If your plane is arriving here by 2 p.m. you will have time after the Camper orientation to go buy a permit.  If you have any questions please ask and visit our website at (https://www.mykauaicampervans.com/)We are located 10 miles from the Lihue Airport. the easiest for you is to catch an UBER ride to 650 Aleka loop in Kapaa. The cost is normally $16. When you arrive, we will be waiting to give you a full tour of your camper and it's operation. The check-in time is 3 pm- 5 pm and checkout time is 10 am-11 am.IMPORTANT: (VW Stresses an Octane level of 92 or higher): The vehicle will be FULL OF PREMIUM GAS when you arrive and you will need to use premium and to FILL IT UP WITH PREMIUM GAS upon drop off. A charge of$10 per gallon for anything less than a full tank on return.What happens if the van breaks down? We suggest opting for the "Roadside Assistance" offered at $9/day
-If your van runs into mechanical issues call our number right away. Please don't try any repairs without talking with us first. If the problem cannot be fixed over the phone we will come out with a mechanic to try and fix the issue. If you are on a restricted road or in a restricted area all repair costs will be renter's responsibility. Each van is equipped with a GPS tracker and entering restricted areas will forfeit $300 from your deposit despite any damage to your van.
What to expect upon arrival:
#1. A walk around and though documenting any damages. (10 min)
#2 A Instruction on how all of the features work (30 min),
#3. A sign off by renter and seller on damage inspection as well as instruction. (5 min).
#4. Finally the driving lesson. Short and sweet making sure the vehicle is a good fit with the renter. (10 min).
