About Josh Penzell
Josh and Shawna met in NYC as theatre artists--Josh a Director, Shawna an actor. Eventually Josh made his way into Learning & Development for tech companies, and Shawna made her way to working in the Beer industry, including her own venture, Seattle Beer School (her job is way cooler). We have one toddler and two senior cats. For about 6 months in 2020 we full-timed in our Class C, Ol' Bess, though now we full-time in our home in Burien, WA.

I highly recommend anyone wanting to rent a motor home in the Seattle area to go with Ol’ Bess. The motor home itself was comfortable and had all the accessories needed ( and then some). The best part of the experience of renting was the owners. Josh and his wife Shawna made the experience the best it could possibly be. Their interaction and honesty regarding the whole situation took away any apprehensions or concerns one might have renting a motor home on line. A quality couple who will not steer you wrong. I would also recommend to anyone renting from Josh and Shawna to opt in on the Craft Beer Package. Shawna definitely knows her beer and stocked our fridge with some outstanding quality beers based on our likings. Well worth it. Thank you Josh and Shawna for one of the best experiences and vacations our family has had. We hope to do it again some time.

This was an amazing adventure!! Josh was so great to work with, he even helped me (a novice) while on the trip over FaceTime!!! His excellent communication and tips made us very at ease for first time RVing.

Josh made our first ever RV trip a breeze. Ol' Bess was very well equipped, which made for a comfortable stay. Josh's orientation was thorough, and I appreciated that he made himself available to answer questions before and during our trip.

Josh’s communication and making sure we had everything we needed was stellar!! We appreciated being able to ask questions (we are RV newbies)… and his attention to details amazed us (all the small touches in the RV…GREAT!!)

I'd highly recommend renting Ol Bess! It's very well stocked and Josh was so great to work with. This was our first time ever being in an RV, so even though I paid attention at the walk through, I still ended up with some questions along the way. Josh responded super fast, and was always helpful (even offering to video chat a problem I was having a hard time solving). Can't say enough positive things. We'll definitely rent Ol Bess again the next time we take a trip like this!

Josh was an amazing host and was super helpful throughout our trip. We had a blast even with a few hiccups that happened but hey that’s RV life for ya!

Brendan—we are so disappointed you had anything less than a 5 star experience. Thanks to your communication and experience, though, we now have back up plans for the specific problems you encountered. Specifically:
—We bought a second grill hose so nobody else would have issues with the portable Weber grill we provide.
—We also purchased an onboard supply of 1-gallons propane tanks which also would have easily solved your issue! So simple!
—We also got an extra propane powered camp stove and fire pit; while the grill was actually not the issue, we don’t want to take chances.
—We added a free standing canopy to our arsenal of equipment, so even if wind happens to damage the awning (and we appreciate your communication when that happened) you still gave an extra outdoor cover.
—Finally, while we still haven’t replicated the temporary generator issues you encountered, we are having the generator professionally serviced this week just to be sure it wasn’t indicative of something bigger.

We had such an awesome vacation trip with a shout out to Josh for making it go so smoothly. He was able to help us access the RV and walked us through all of the important things. He gave an excellent instructive walk through. He was available for any questions via text. We had an amazing time with our little family. We were able to move at our speed, without worrying about check in and out times and able to see many areas in Washington.
We rented because we had a disabled family member who needs to be able to rest at his timing. Josh and his family were so kind they even donated to the MS Society in our family member's honor.
Ol Bess was comfortable and we slept solid. She was well maintained and had no mechanical issues on our trip. I highly recommend renting from this owner.
