My initial communication with the owner(s) was pleasant. We exchanged a couple of texts, he asked if my dogs were well behaved and agreed to rent me his RV for two weeks for a family road trip across California. Met in person to pick the RV in front of some random mailbox rental place in North Hollywood. Appointment for pickup was 9:30 am...owners did not show up until around 10:45 am, so we had to wait in the middle of this random parking lot for over an hour. We met exchanged pleasantries, performed a walkthrough of the RV, documented any existing damage and exchanged keys. Once I started driving the RV, I noticed that it was riding a little rough as the suspension seemed to be worn. I get home to pack the RV and depart with the family on our trip but the key to unlock all of the underground storage compartments to the RV broke. I contacted the owner to see how to remedy the situation. He suggested I go to any hardware store or locksmith ti find the specific type of key requires. He said that it is a pretty standard key and that anyone should have it. He even suggested a couple of businesses near my area. After 4 hours and 5 stores I finally notified the owner that I cannot find a key and that we would need to be able to use the storage compartments. He then tells me that he has a spare key and he can drop it off to me. Although I appreciate him driving down to my house to drop off the key, I had to delay our departure by a day because of the wild goose chase he sent me on in search for this key, rather than informing me of the spare key in the first place. We finally depart for Yosemite the next morning. The ride is so rough that the "premium" Bose speakers that were mounted under the TV in the main cabin fell off of it's brackets. We had to disconnect them for the rest of the trip as they were dangling above the dash. Upon, arrival of our first destination, I discover that the TV in the main cabin cannot be powered due to a missing remote. I notified the owner to which he suggested that I go out and buy a universal remote for which he will reimburse me. After dealing with the key situation, I did not want to go on a search for a remote in the middle of my camping trip, so we opted to just use the TV in the bedroom. I know that having TV during camping shouldn't be an issue BUT is was a luxury I paid for and was expecting. We camped in various spots in California. We were supposed to be out for 2 weeks. But due to the rough rides in between destinations, we decided to cut our trip a few days short and return home.
