The van is very nice to drive, just don't be in a hurry when you go up hill, and keep an eye on the heat monitor ! I had it for a month. It consumes a bit much but it has the same size as a car so it's easy to drive. I had very few maintenance to do.
Had one issue related to the fridge battery but unrelated to the engine and Greg was very helpful.
Overall, I had a great time with Chula !

If you are looking for a great way to explore Vancouver look no further. We loved our experience and the Westfalia was equipped with everything we needed for camping. Greg explained us everything we needed to know before our trip and made us feel confortable. Experience with manual car is a must.

If you want to meet random strangers and share stories when travelling then drive a bright yellow Kombi! This vehicle is a cultural icon that represents freedom on the road. So many people came up to greet myself and Chula during our week touring beautiful BC. Greg was very helpful and thorough with tips on to live with “Chula”. Absolutely recommend.

We had the most incredible 4 weeks with Chula! Greg was brilliant with taking us through the van & helping us with the gear changes to begin with.
Chula was reliable for the entire 4 weeks, never had any issues with it & we cruised onto Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast, up to Jasper, Banff & then down to the Okanagan Valley.
The room & storage inside was great, and the pop top adds so much extra space!
Cannot recommend enough!

We rented the Westfalia for a full week in Vancouver and towns around.
Easy booking.
Good descriptions on the West’s page.
Really welcoming host when we got at his place to get the west. Instructions given by the host really clear and he made sure to be available for us at anytime.
Despite the age of the car, we didnt have any mechanical problems.
Good old car to ride and bring you to wherever you wanna go for a trip.
We give a 5stars rating because the westfalia met our expectations. If you want an old school trip, thats what you’ll get. What a Nice experience we had. Thank you Greg.

My friend and I have had an amazing trip with Chula. Greg took the time to explain and show us everything, and even eased our trip by dropping us off at the bus station on the way back. The van was very well maintained and its size very convenient to park easily anywhere we wanted. On top of that, it was very well equipped and the space was optimized. We took it all over Vancouver island and around Whistler area without any issue. We would love to rent it again!

My wife and I decided to rent a Westfalia van to help us decide if we like camping with this type of vehicle. We planned our trip with friends who have their own VW van and we had made extensive campground and ferry reservations for a trip to Vancouver Island.
Greg’s answer
It was unfortunate that Gordon had problems on his trip as customer service is always our number one priority.
There was a problem with the van that we thought we had corrected and were in constant communication with Gordon about. Unfortunately, any problems that Gordon had while on trip he never communicated until his third day some time in the afternoon. Once he finally did, we were on site in about 3 hours and had the camper at a garage and repaired before 8pm that night. It was a minor fault in the ignition coil and not a complete engine failure as suggested. However, Gordon decided to cancel his trip before we could actually offer him anything, such as a hotel for the night, and then started seeking compensation.
Our vehicles are always kept in the best condition possible and we use top notch mechanics. However, we cannot control or foresee everything but only try our best to look after our customers, which I feel we did.
