I recently rented a 2014 Thor Motor Coach Chateau from Wade Grant from 10AUG21 to 13AUG21 and I am sad to say the experience in dealing with him has been terrible. On 10AUG21 he had told me the scheduled delivery time would be at 3:00pm. I requested if the delivery could be sooner so he was able to bring the RV in at 2:00pm. Upon delivery of his RV he did give me a briefing on the operation of the RV to include verifying the condition of the vehicle. I signed a document but was not provided a copy. He also made an offer to me and my girlfriend that upon returning the RV to his residence, he would discount the flat rate delivery fee of $150.00 to $75.00. He said this would save him the trip of coming back to my hotel to pick the RV up. During our RV trip, the grey water tank began to overflow. I immediately shut off the park water source and notified Wade and explained the situation to him. Instead of being helpful, he appeared to be very annoyed with the call and wasn't much help. I obtained the help from the next door RV and we were able to drain both the grey and black water tanks. After our RV stay, we cleaned the RV, flushed the black water tank out one last time before we left the park. We filled up the gas we returned it to Wade's residence. Return time was supposed to be at 1100 am but due to the distance travelled, we arrived at 1pm. Wade was not home to receive the RV however his wife Lori was. We meet with Lori and did a complete walk through of both the exterior and interior of the vehicle. I had also told Lori about the grey tank overflow and that I flushed the black water tank before we left the RV park. Lori was satisfied with the condition of the returned RV and signed us off. I also told her about the $75.00 discount that Wade offered us if we dropped off the RV at his residence so he did not have to get it. She told me Wade will not be back until 15AUG21 and he will take care of it. Lori was very polite and gracious to us. On 17AUG21, we returned to Hawaii. On 18AUG21 since I still haven't heard from Wade 7:40pm, I texted Wade to inquire about the issue. He immediately texted me back saying, "Do NOT TEXT ME AT 10:42 PM". I thought this was really rude. I didn't call him by phone and wake up his household which is the reason I texted him. The beauty of text, you can answer it at your leisure. The next day, 16AUG21 I sill didn't receive a reply from him to discuss the issue. I messaged him on Outdoorsy to discuss this issue. On 20AUG21, Wade finally replied to my message and gave me a rather terse response. Basically he stated the black water tank was not removed for the delivery fee which is a flat rate, not a one way or two way item. I had paid for the dump fee of $50 so in his initial briefing, he told us not to worry about the black water tank and didn't train us on how to do it which was why I had another RV user at the park assist me. He accused me of not returning the RV clean yet it was inspected by his wife Lori who was satisfied. Bear in mind if it was dirty, he could've easily called me that very day to discuss the issue in which he did not. He stated because he delivered the RV early (1 hour) and I brought it back late, we were more than even. He should've never made an offer to discount $75 for returning his RV to him, even though we paid for delivery / return services of $150 if he had no intention on providing it. He told me I overflowed his grey water tank because I didn't listen to anything he told me. He also told me to never rent from him again.
You know, my girlfriend and I who are both from Hawaii were really looking forward to our 1st RV experience. The way Wade ad treated us really left a bad taste on our whole trip and made us leery of using Outdoorsy if there are unprofessional owners like Wade. He expects 1st time users to absorb everything in his initial briefing without leaving his customers any check list, trouble shooting common RV issues, nothing. When you call him for assistance or have any questions, it's like an annoyance to him. Ever since returning his RV on the 13th, I've not heard from him until the 20th. I'm sorry to say, this is absolutely terrible customer service. My girlfriend and I rent our vehicle through Turo. Most of our renters are out of state visitors. We Never treat any of our customers this way. We want tourist to enjoy our vehicle and make their trip memorable, not treat them like crap. To potential customers of Wade Grant, this is the type of "customer service" you can expect from him. We are very disappointed in his service....
